Joel/Lone Pine Tree Service provided tree trimming at my home. Joel did a pre walk around and set an appointment to do the work. Provided 24hr notice and 4hr notice prior to the work. A full crew of workers, boom truck, chipper truck and a crew truck. They were efficient and work quickly and before leaving the areas were raked/blown clean, better than them arriving. Every step of limb removal was questioned for my approval. It was a very smooth, safe and efficient process. Highly recommended Lone Pine Tree Service for all your tree needs. I can't say enough good things about Lone Pine Tree Service. During the July 4th storm, we had a tree emergency that needed immediate attention, and their team responded quickly, professionally, and with an incredible sense of urgency. From the moment I called, communication was excellent. They arrived when they said they would, assessed the situation safely, and worked efficiently to remove the hazardous trees while taking great care to protect our property. Even under difficult storm conditions, their crew was courteous, knowledgeable, and clearly experienced. It's rare to find a company that combines outstanding customer service with such high-quality workmanship, especially during a widespread emergency when everyone is looking for help. Lone Pine Tree Service exceeded every expectation. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of tree work, whether it's routine maintenance or an emergency situation. Thank you to the entire team for your hard work and professionalism—you turned a very stressful situation into one that was handled with confidence and care.Posted on Google![]()

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Lone Pine Tree Service!
Was referred to this company recently regarding tree removal. Called, they came out next day to estimate. Scheduled the work for the following week. Had a great crew, fast, efficient, professional and in my view, extremely reasonable for the work done. They cleaned up after themselves and followed up to see if I was happy with the job done, all before requesting payment for the work done. I couldn’t be happier with this company, or the outcome. Wish there was a 10 star option! Thanks Joel and crew.

Yelp Review
Joel and his team have always done a fantastic job for us. When the job gets too big for us, we call Joel. He works with us in doing what we need done from simply felling a tree, limbing widow makers out of tall trees or clearing and chipping the brush. They always go above and beyond, courteous, respectful and often doing more (in a good way) than what we expected for the agreed quote. On this job, we had them fell a tree and leave us with the job of using or finish cutting up into manageable sizes for our personal equipment and to keep our job costs in a favorable range.

Why Tree Cutting is Crucial in Valley Springs, CA
Dead oaks and pines frequently threaten the homes in this CDP. These dangerous trees become especially risky near power lines along W Highway 12 and Silver Rapids Road. So, when large oaks start leaning toward your house or nearby streets, hazardous tree removal becomes urgent.
Your neighbors may also face the same tree problems you do. But boundary tree disputes often start when dead branches fall across property lines. That’s why preventive tree maintenance keeps everyone happy and safe.
Living in Calaveras County also means dealing with fire danger. So, regular arborist inspections help identify trees that feed wildfires. A trusted tree cutting company protects your family from both storm damage and fire risks.

What's the Difference Between Tree Cutting and Tree Removal?
Many times, we met homeowners who think tree cutting and removal are the same. The truth is, they’re actually very different jobs with different goals and outcomes.
For example, we cut healthy trees to reduce fire fuel loads near New Hogan Lake. But we completely remove diseased Valley Oaks that threaten your home.

What Does Tree Cutting Cost in Valley Springs?
Local conditions make some jobs more complex and expensive than others. So, naturally, the final pricing depends on several factors.
Cost Factors

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a permit to cut a tree in Valley Springs, CA?
Whether you need a permit or not depends on what you’re cutting. Big oak trees usually need permits from Calaveras County, but regular trimming doesn’t. We’ve dealt with these rules for years, so we know exactly what needs permits. Don’t worry, we handle all that paperwork headache for you.
What is the average cost of tree cutting in Valley Springs?
Prices vary a lot depending on your tree’s size and where it sits. Small ones run $150-$350, medium trees cost $400-$750, and big ones can hit $800-$1,200 or more. Hillside lots and power lines make jobs trickier and more expensive.
How often should oak and pine trees be trimmed in Valley Springs?
Your oaks need attention every 3-5 years, pines every 2-3 years. Our brutal summers beat up trees more than other places. If you see dead branches hanging around, don’t wait. Get them cut right away before they become dangerous.
Who is responsible for boundary tree maintenance between neighbors?
Usually, whoever has the trunk on their side pays, but it gets complicated fast. Both neighbors deal with falling branches, though. We’ve helped lots of folks figure this out fairly. Sometimes neighbors split costs when the tree benefits both properties equally.
Do you need a license to cut trees in Valley Springs?
Yes, pros need a C-61 Limited Specialty license in California. You can trim small stuff yourself, but big jobs need licensed guys like us. We see too many horror stories from unlicensed crews who mess up properties or hurt people.
Can I cut down trees on my property in California?
Most trees on your land are yours to cut, but those protected oaks have special rules. Calaveras County gets pretty strict about heritage trees. We always check what’s allowed before touching anything. It saves you from expensive fines and legal headaches later.
How does tree cutting help reduce wildfire risk in Calaveras County?
Dead branches are like kindling waiting for a spark. We clean out all that fuel and create space between trees so fires can’t jump easily. Living here, you know how fast fires move. But proper tree maintenance gives your home a fighting chance.
Do insurance companies cover emergency tree cutting after storms?
If a tree smashes your house or blocks your driveway, insurance usually pays for removal. They won’t pay for cutting healthy trees, though. We know how to document everything properly so your claim goes through without hassles or delays.
